Network/Systems Engineer

We are looking for a friendly and outgoing PC technician to join our small service team.

Applicants must have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and excellent troubleshooting abilities -- solving a wide range of IT problems. You need to enjoy working on your own as well as part of a team and will need to have good time management skills. You are quick on the uptake and eager to learn new skills and strive to provide excellent customer service. You need to enjoy solving problems and providing solutions even under pressure.

In this role you will be responsible for maintaining clients IT systems as well as addressing ad hoc IT problems as they arise.

Required technical skills:

  • TCIP/IP and networking
  • Desktop support (XP, Vista and 7)
  • Windows servers (including Active Directory)
  • MS Exchange
  • Microsoft Office applications
  • Anti-virus management
  • Hardware installation, maintenance and repair
  • Internet and email configuration
  • Wireless networking
  • Maintaining and managing Terminal services

Experience with virtualisation (ESX), SQL Server, WAN, Linux and network security would be favourable. You must be able to understand and use acronyms like DSL, POP, SMTP, VPN, AD, POE, DC, WAN, VOIP, SAN and TLA.

At least 3+ years experience in a network/systems engineering role is required.

This role is based in Masterton.

Working hours are flexible, up to 40 hours per week. A full, clean New Zealand drivers licence is essential. A fluent command of the English language is necessary. Salary is negotiable depending on experience.


Office Administration/Reception

We are seeking someone to join our team as office administrator /accounts / reception. You will be the first point of contact and if you love the frontline and are friendly and professional with an outgoing personality then this could be an ideal role for you. The successful candidate will be extremely organised and self-motivated, coupled with a “can do” attitude, strong communication & computer skills. You will need to be as reliable as a Swiss watch, able to deal with the impossible, possess an organised mind and prioritise tasks at the drop of hat. Excellent verbal and written English skills are essential.

Ideally you will have general experience with Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Microsoft Office as the daily duties include:

  • Invoicing
  • End of month statements
  • Taking of customer Jobs and Orders
  • Banking
  • Managing schedules

Other essential skills required:

  • Efficient
  • Great attention to detail
  • Tons of common sense
  • Is a quick learner

Proven administrative and front office experience is beneficial; a bubbly but mature personality and positive attitude is essential. You will be working as part of a friendly, entertaining and hard-working team, therefore a sense of humour and a positive attitude are also important. This is a sole position and you will be expected to perform and complete your tasks on your own initiative, taking responsibility and ownership for your workload.

This role is based in Masterton.
